One of the latest additions to the dirtybird roster of producers is the New Jersey native TANNER ROSS. "My mom bought me a drum machine for my 16th birthday," he says, "and that's when I started making drum 'n' bass." Like many young producers, Ross cut his teeth on the UK-rave offshoot but as his age changed, so did the BPM. A music engineer at heart, Ross currently resides in Boston where he attends the Berklee College of Music studying music synthesis where he designs sound for things like Splinter Cell 4. When not doing homework or making tracks, Tanner can usually be found behind the decks in Boston clubs.

Musically, Tanner's deep knowledge of sound design and party music make his tracks stretch across genres and easy definition. Like most of the dirtybird posse, Tanner Ross just knows how to make it bounce. "When I moved to Boston," he says, "I saw Fred Everything at a proper house night and it sort of changed the way I think about things." Ross' fate was sealed on a visit to the dirtybird compound in San Francisco and on a rainy rooftop at Miami's Winter Music Conference. "There was rain during the day, so they thought it was going to be cancelled. Then Barclay and all the kids from San Fran were like, 'Fuck this, we’re going to make this party happen.'"

The party continues to this day.
