3 Channels, the two prolific minimal producers from Poland who turned in one of the very best remixes of “Who’s Afraid of Detroit?” last year, return to dirtybird with a new alias called “Catz ‘n Dogz.” This will be their debut release with a follow-up record due out in September on Mobilee’s great new sub-label called “Leena.”

This record was signed on 1st listen at the Miami Winter Music Conference when Justin Martin and Claude VonStroke were trudging through over 800 new demos and promos looking for something really hot to play. The A1 track “Fixation” really grabs you with a mangled sample and an old school groove. You think it might be a one trick pony but then the staggered keys and the serious funk drop in for the last third of the track making this a real classic jam. B1, “A Chicken Affair,” has a similar hot groove with a warping sound over the top that will truly fry your head. This duo is really delivering some great music that harkens back to the old days of house music when people had fun and parties were all about different kinds of music and not sticking to one genre.
